The Challenge

The customer wanted to soften the edges of a corner location of this open-air shopping center while also providing shoppers with shade from the sun and protection from inclement weather. The location often has high wind conditions that had to be considered. The canopy's corner location presented a challenge in creating a design that was architecturally interesting and had a cohesive look while also being structurally sound.

02

The Solution

Our team created a wave-like canopy design constructed of corrugated galvanized panels. The canopy is in the shape of a sine wave and meets at the corner with a compound curve. Each side extends back 75' from the corner.

03

The Result

The wave-like canopy provides the illusion of movement to soften the building's appearance and provides a captivating first impression to Mellody Farm. Shoppers can rest in the shade or seek shelter from the weather under the two 75' canopy sections.
